BLIK is a mobile payment system that was launched in 2015 and is the result of cooperation between six of the largest banks in Poland: PKO Bank Polski S.A., Alior Bank S.A., Bank Millennium S.A., ING Bank Śląski S.A., Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. (currently Santander Bank Polska S.A.) and mBank S.A. While currently BLIK is offered in all Polish banks.
BLIK is integral part of mobile banking app. Provides the ability to transact across all possible channels under one brand - e-commerce, instant payments (P2P), POS and ATMs. Thanks to its partnership with Mastercard users can pay contactless with their phones in POS.
In 2021, BLIK users made as many as 763 million transactions - that's an increase of 80 percent year-on-year, which shows the company's outstanding dynamic growth. In Poland, it is already actively used by more than 10 million users - almost a third of adult Polish people. Moreover, BLIK is available to all mobile banking customers - that's 21.6 million active applications. Additionally, since the launch of the system in February 2015, users have already performed 1.5 billion operations.
According to estimates by the Polish Payments Standard the share of BLIK transactions in all e-commerce payments on the Polish market already exceeds 70 percent. According to Kantar data, it is also the strongest brand in the payments on the Polish market - in the last quarter of 2021 its awareness reached 97 percent. No other payment brand in the group of people using banking applications has such recognition today.
